Back to Printmaking: Week Twelve in the Studio

Week twelve began with an excitement sparked by some fern fossils I found at a local shop. Intrigued by their patterns, I turned them into stamps, blending the worlds of printmaking and clay. My print professor in undergrad would say that almost anything and everything can be a print. Using this perspective as a lens through which I viewed my work of the week

A new aspect to my practice I have been trying is having friends come visit the studio and create something to keep. This is a time where ideas and collaboration can wander freely. Making bonding and friendship a part of my practice seems to be an invaluable direction to step in.

As the week concluded, I reflected on the productivity and growth it had brought. It was a week of discovery, marked by challenges and setbacks overcome through resilience and determination.

Week twelve may have begun with a simple discovery, but it blossomed into a symphony of exploration. As I look ahead with renewed vigor, I carry with me the lessons learned, ready to embrace the boundless possibilities of my artistic endeavors.
