Hello,
My name is Jooby Ivey and I’m a queer artist working in Louisville, KY. With my BFA in ceramics, I am now attending Indiana University Southeast as a post bacc. Born and raised in Utah, most of my summers consisted of visiting Appalachia and east coast beaches. Now residing closer to those childhood memories, I spend a majority of my time cultivating orchids, making experimental music and hand-building ceramic forms. If I’m not taking a nap, I am pulling inspiration from the natural world and adapting these themes into space and sonics. Direct influences from film and biology become apparent in my work. Starting with playful ideas and buoyant design, I use an assortment of techniques and mediums to realize a whole new world. I hope you cherish the work as much as I do.
