Groundwork: Week Nine in the Studio

Week nine marked a shift from the quiet introspection of previous weeks as the studio buzzed with energy, fueled by anticipation and a flurry of activity. With the promise of a soda firing on the horizon, I immersed myself in preparations alongside my fellow artists, Kade and GH, embarking on a journey of creativity and collaboration.

In tandem with our preparations for the soda firing, I seized the opportunity to expand my artistic horizons by applying to participate in an exhibition for small works at MANIFEST, a prestigious gallery located in Cincinnati. The prospect of showcasing my creations alongside fellow artists filled me with a sense of pride and anticipation, igniting a spark of ambition within me.

As I awaited the outcome of my application, I found myself reflecting on the journey that had led me to this moment. The studio, once a sanctuary for solitary creation, had transformed into a bustling hub of collaboration and camaraderie, as we worked together to bring our artistic visions to life.

Week nine was a testament to the power of collective effort and shared passion, as we banded together to realize our creative aspirations. Amidst the chaos of firing preparations, I found moments of clarity and inspiration, reaffirming my commitment to my craft and the pursuit of artistic excellence.

As the week drew to a close, I felt a sense of pride and accomplishment wash over me. Whether it was through the meticulous preparation of my pieces for the soda firing or the bold step of applying to exhibit my work at MANIFEST, I had embraced every opportunity for growth and exploration with unwavering determination.

As I eagerly awaited the results of our firing and the outcome of my exhibition application, I felt a renewed sense of purpose and possibility coursing through my veins. Week nine may have been a whirlwind of activity, but its impact on my artistic journey is immeasurable, shaping not only the trajectory of my creations but also the depth of my aspirations.
