Recovery: Week Eight in the Studio
Welcome back! Week eight has been quite a unique mix of challenges and personal connections. The week started off on a tough note for me—I got really sick and found it difficult to focus on my work. During this time, I was incredibly grateful for the support from, Kade, who stepped in to make the batch of test clay I discovered last week. His generosity allowed me to focus on recovering without worrying about my projects.
With this week being centered around rest, I took the time to recharge both physically and mentally. It was a much-needed break to listen to my body and prioritize my health. In addition to taking it easy, I found joy in catching up with friends. One of the highlights of my week was visiting Nada Nada while Kade was busy with his work. Later that night, I reconnected with my good friend, Glossy who I hadn’t seen in too long.
Sharing laughs and stories over drinks reminded me of the importance of maintaining friendships, especially during challenging times. It offered a nice balance to my recovery process and helped lift my spirits.
In addition to my recovery, I took some time to explore drawing with dip pens—a technique presented to me through my part-time job at the art supply store. There’s something incredibly satisfying about the precision and fluidity of a dip pen. It made my appreciation for illustration that much deeper and profound, to me.
Looking ahead, I’m excited to get back into the studio stronger and more inspired. I’m eagerly anticipating testing the new clay Kade made, and I can't wait to share the results with you all. Thank you for following along on my journey, and here’s to the creative adventures that await in the weeks to come.
